DAVE MATTHEWS BAND TO PERFORM AT ALLIANCE BANK STADIUM
POPULAR BAND TO MAKE FIRST SYRACUSE APPEARANCE IN 10 YEARS
Syracuse, NY- The Syracuse Chiefs in conjunction with Onondaga County and Chicago-based JAM Productions announced today that Dave Matthews Band will play a concert at Alliance Bank Stadium on Tuesday, August 4 at 7:00pm. The concert will be the first held at the stadium since an Allman Brothers show in the summer of 2000.
"We are thrilled to host Dave Matthews Band here in Syracuse," said Chiefs President Ron Gersbacher. "This event is sure to generate a tremendous amount of buzz not only around the ballpark, but throughout the community."
Dave Matthews Bands was formed in Charlottesville, Virginia in 1991 by singer, songwriter and guitarist Dave Matthews, along with Stefan Lessard, Boyd Tinsley, LeRoi Moore, and Carter Beauford.
The band has recorded seven studio albums, 13 live albums, and one compilation album. They have sold more than 31 million records in the United States alone, easily making them one of the top selling musical acts of all time. The band has received two Grammy awards including 2004's Best Male Vocal Performance. They also won an NAACP Image award in 2004.
The August concert will mark the first Syracuse appearance by Dave Matthews Band since a 1999 show at the Landmark Theatre. Tickets for the concert at Alliance Bank Stadium will be $55 and $65 and will be available through the Chiefs ticket office and will go on sale through the Chiefs ticket office at 10:00am on Saturday, March 14. More details regarding tickets will be announced in upcoming weeks.
